Mc Elroy 1938 model
Nel 1938 Teodor Mc Elroy produce due modelli, lo standard e il deluxe (comunemente detto Marbelite), marmorizzato.
Cenni costruttivi e storici
Il Mc Elroy 1938b Deluxe ha il casting semplificato rispetto al suo predecessore il modello 1938, con un divrso dumper ed una nuova targhetta in acciaio di grandi dimensioni.
Nella targa viene distinto se si tratta del modello standard o Deluxe.
Tutti i modelli 1938 sono stati realizzati con finitura standard e Deluxe.
La prima ad essere prodotta è stata la Deluxe o "marbleite".
I primi modelli 1938 nominati (1938a) hanno ancora il doppio pivot sul gruppo della leva, mentre i modelli più recenti hanno un perno unico per entrambe le leve.

Purtroppo il caso ha voluto che il tasto durante il lungo viaggio tra USA ed il mio Qth ha subito uno o più urti che ne hanno generato il piegamento dell'asse pivottante e lo spostamento del braccio verso l'alto.
Così alla visione del tasto appena arrivato ho avuto subito una reazione di sconforto per avere tra le mani un tanto agonato Mc Elroy Marble, però danneggiato, poi nel controllarlo meglio, sotto la base ho scorto l'inconfondibile targhetta che attesta la provenienza del tasto, appartenuto alla Signora Louise Moreau W3WRE che nel corso della sua esistenza ha dedicato molto allo studio dei tasti e della telegrafia in genere, pubblicando molti libri e recensioni.
Sicuramente possiamo affermare che la Signora Moreau è stata una pietra miliare nello studio della storia relativa al mondo della telegrafia.
E' questo anche il motivo della perfetto stato di conservazione del tasto.
Dopo lo sgomento inziale, nei giorni a seguire ho smontato il tasto pezzo per pezzo, ne ho studiato come poterlo riportare al suo stato originale senza comprometerlo.
In definitiva si era solo piegato il pivot del pendolo, o meglio l'asse di sonodo del braccio vibrante.
Una sera preso il coraggio mi sono messo ai ferri riuscendo a riprotare in asse il tutto con impegno, direi anche in modo inaspettato per la velocità con cui tutto è riuscito in meno di un quarto d'ora.
Rimontato il Marble ora suona che è una meraviglia e meno male, aver tra le mani un pezzo della Collezione Moreau rovinato non è il massimo dalla vita ...
Ora è diventato di nuovo il vecchio "mulo" di una volta, come tutti i Mc Elroy.

The Mc Elroy 1938b Deluxe has the casting simplified compared to its predecessor model in 1938, with a divrso dumper and a new plaque in large steel.
The plaque is distinct if it is the standard model or Deluxe.
All models in 1938 were made with standard finish and Deluxe.
The first to be produced was the Deluxe or "marbleite".
The first models in 1938 appointed (1938a) still have the double pivot the lever assembly, while the newer models have a single pin for both levers.

Unfortunately, the chance would have the key during the long journey between the US and my Qth has undergone one or more shocks that have created the bending axis pivoting and moving the arm upward.
So the vision of the key just arrived I immediately had a reaction of despair to get your hands on a much agonato Mc Elroy Marble, though damaged, then in control it better, under the base I saw the unmistakable plate that certifies the origin of the button, belonged to Mrs. Louise Moreau W3WRE that in the course of his life he devoted much study and keys of telegraphy in general, publishing many books and reviews.
Surely we can say that Mrs. Moreau was a milestone in the study of history on the world of telegraphy.
And 'This is also the reason for the perfect condition of the button.
After the initial shock, in the days to follow I disassembled the key piece by piece, I have studied how to bring back to its original state without comprometerlo.
Ultimately it was only bent the pivot of the pendulum, or rather the axis of the arm sonodo vibrant.
One evening I took the courage to put irons managing to riprotare aligned everything with commitment, I would say so unexpected for the speed with which everything is managed in less than fifteen minutes.
Remounted the Marble now sounds like a dream and lucky, having in his hands a piece of the Collection Moreau ruined not the most out of life ...
Now it has become again the old "mule" for a time, like all Mc Elroy.
